Al-Ma'mun was the seventh Abbasid Caliph who ruled from 813 to 833. During his reign, he faced several significant wars and revolts. Another notable war was the Byzantine-Arab War, which took place from 830 to 841, overlapping with Al-Ma'mun's rule. This conflict saw the Abbasids launching multiple campaigns against the Byzantine Empire, including the Battle of Mauropotamos in 844.
