Rajasuriya was a powerful king who ruled over the Kingdom of Sitawaka during the years 1594-1595. Despite his short reign, he faced significant challenges, including the Kandyan Wars. These wars, which took place from 1594 to 1617, were a series of conflicts between the Kingdom of Kandy and the Portuguese, who sought to expand their control over the island of Sri Lanka. Although Rajasuriya's rule coincided with the early years of these wars, it is unclear to what extent he was directly involved in the conflict.
