Al-Qahir was a Caliph who ruled over the Abbasid Caliphate from 931 to 934. During his reign, the most significant war was the Qarmatian revolt, which occurred from 930 to 933. The Qarmatians, a radical Ismaili sect, launched a series of attacks and captured the holy city of Mecca in 930, causing widespread chaos and destruction. Al-Qahir led the Abbasid forces in a successful campaign to retake Mecca in 933, restoring order and religious sanctity to the region. His rule was marked by his determination to suppress the Qarmatian threat and maintain the authority of the Abbasid Caliphate.
