Kirti Sri Rajasinha was the last king of the Kingdom of Kandy, reigning from 1747 to 1782. During his rule, the most significant war was the First Kandyan War, which took place from 1762 to 1766. This conflict was fought between the Kingdom of Kandy and the British East India Company, resulting in the capture of the Kandyan capital and the signing of the Treaty of Amiens in 1766. Despite losing the war, Kirti Sri Rajasinha's reign was marked by his efforts to resist British colonial expansion and maintain the independence of the Kingdom of Kandy.
