Kutlug I Bilge Kagan of Uyghurs allied himself with the Karluks and Basmyls. In 744 Kutlug seized Ötüken and beheaded the last Göktürk Qaghan, Ozmish Qaghan, creating the Uyghur Khanate that succeeded the Second Turkic Khaganate.
