Is a country in Indochina. An early form of Vietnamese state emerged already in 500 BC. At the end of the XIX century Vietnam became part of French Indochina. After World War II the country was divided in a northen state (loyal to the eastern bloc) and a southern state (loyal to the western bloc). The Vietnam War ended on 30 April 1975 and saw South Vietnam come under the control of a Provisional Revolutionary Government, which led to the reunification of Vietnam on 2 July 1976, creating the modern Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
