The Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR) is a partially recognized state which claims the territory of Western Sahara, but controls only the easternmost internal part of that territory. It emerged from the disestablishment of Spanish Sahara, when the SADR was proclaimed by the Polisario Front on 27 February 1976.
