Is a landlocked country in Southern Africa, between the Zambezi and Limpopo Rivers. Zimbabwe initally gained its independence as Rhodesia, a country ruled by its white minority. The minority rule ended in 1979. The current Republic of Zimbabwe was declared in 1980.
