Was a polity in central modern-day Romania, that was a vassal of neighbouring countries for most of its existence. It emerged with the Treaty of Speyer in 1570, when Maximilian of Habsurg allowed John II, who had claims to the Hungarian throne, to create its own (although as a vassal of Austria) independent country. In 1711 the country was annexed and inglobated into the Habsburg Domains.
