Establishment
- January 1128: The original owners of the village and Schelklingen Castle were free lords of Schelklingen, probably related to the lords of Steußlingen. In 1127 three brothers, called von Schelklingen, gave goods to the Urspring monastery.

Disestablishment
- January 1344: The last Count of Berg-Schelklingen sold the dominion to the House of Austria in 1343 and received it back as a fief. When the last Count of Berg-Schelklingen died in 1346, the rule of Schelklingen fell to Austria.
