Was a 19th-century proto-state in the Amur river basin set up by Russian and Chinese gold miners illegally settling on Chinese territory ruled by the Qing dynasty. It was nicknamed "California on the Amur".
Establishment
- January 1885: Zheltuga organized as a self-governing association by gold seeking adventurers called Zheltuga Republic self-styled "Amur California". However it was not recognized by China or Russia.
