Was a precolonial polity on the border of the Central African Republic and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. In 1873 it became a Sultanate, but fell to Belgian Congo only twenty years later.

Establishment

  • January 1831: Zemio is established by Zande people in a region centered in Zemio between the Chinko (Shinko) and the Uele (Ouelle) Rivers in modern-day Central African Republic.
