In 649, the chieftain of the Mengshe tribe, Xinuluo founded a kingdom. It was a predecessor of Nanzhao (a historical kingdom centered on present-day Yunnan in China).
Establishment
- January 650: In 649, the chieftain of the Mengshe tribe, Xinuluo, founded the Great Meng and took the title of Qijia Wang ("Outstanding King"). He acknowledged Tang suzerainty.

Disestablishment
- January 705: In 704, the Tibetan Empire, ruled by Songtsen Gampo, conquered the White Mywa tribes in Xinuluo, making them vassals or tributaries. This expansion of the Tibetan Empire helped strengthen their control over the region.
