Was one of the many Russian Principalties that existed in the Middle Ages and were later inglobated either into Russia or Lithuania.

Establishment

  • January 1157: Vshchizh principality was an appanage principality within the Chernigov principality which existed from 1156 to 1239.

  • January 1236: Establishment of the Kozelsk Principality.

  • January 1240: From the middle of the XIII century, the territory of the former Vshchizhsky principality became part of the Bryansk principality.
