The recently arrived Hurrians founded the small state of Urkesh in northeastern Syria.

Establishment

  • January 2299 BC: The Hurrians founded the small Kingdom of Urkesh. The Hurrians were a population that inhabited the Ancient Near East during the Bronze Age.
