Establishment
- January 901: Traditional historiography assumes that much of central Mexico was dominated by a Toltec Empire between the 10th and 12th century AD.

1. Spanish wars of colonization in the Americas
Were a series of expeditions and military campaigns by Spanish conquistadores and discoverers to conquer territories in central and southern America.
1.1. Spanish conquest of Yucatán
Was a protracted conflict where Spanish colonisers gradually incorporated the region of Yucatán.
- January 1543: In 1541-42 the first permanent Spanish town councils in the entire Yucatán peninsula were founded at Campeche and Mérida.

- January 1101: Traditional historiography assumes that domination over central Mexico by the Toltec Empire ended in the 12th century AD.
- January 1101: After about 1000 AD, Toltec invaders took over Uxmal, and most building ceased by 1100 AD.
