Was one of the Pyu city-states that existed from about the 2nd century BCE to the mid-11th century in present-day Upper Burma (Myanmar) and were founded by the Tibeto-Burman-speaking Pyu people.

1. Conquests of Anawrahta

Expansion during the rule of Anawrahta in the Pagan Kingdom.

  • January 1051: Fall of Kingdom of Tagaung c. 1050s.

  • January 650: In 649, the chieftain of the Mengshe tribe, Xinuluo, founded the Great Meng and took the title of Qijia Wang ("Outstanding King"). He acknowledged Tang suzerainty.
