Principality of Great Wallachia

Was a principality in Thessaly that detached from the Despotate of Epirus. The name derives from the Vlachs (Aromanians), who had lived across much of the area.
Establishment
- January 1269: After the death of Michael II Angelos, the region of Epirus was spun off to John I Dukas Komnenos, Michael's illegitimate son. In 1268, the territory became part of the Principality of Great Wallachia.

Disestablishment
- January 1320: Until 1318 as an independent principality of Great Wallachia, which was merged into the Duchy of Neopatria in 1319.
