Was an ancient kingdom in Sumatra's interior, at the location of present-day Lake Singkarak. It is believed that the Kingdom sank into Lake Singkarak after a volcanic explosion.

  • January 301: Establishment of the Samaskuta Kingdom.

Disestablishment

  • January 417: The Samaskuta Kingdom, ruled by King Mahendravarman I, was a powerful empire in Southeast Asia. The eruption of Krakatoa in 416 devastated the kingdom, leading to its eventual decline. King Mahendravarman I tried to rebuild the kingdom, but it never regained its former glory.
