Is a country in Southeast Asia and Oceania between the Indian and Pacific oceans. It consists of over 17,000 islands, including Sumatra, Java, Sulawesi, and parts of Borneo and New Guinea. Indonesia unilaterally declared independence from the Netherlands in 1945. It assumed its current denomination in 1950.
Establishment
- August 1950: The United States of Indonesia are replaced by the unitary Republic of Indonesia.
