Establishment
- January 1201: Mayurbhanj State was established in the 12th century by the Bhanj dynasty.

1. Events
- January 1494: In 1493, Sambalpur State was established by Balaram Deo, a Rajput from the Chauhan dynasty and the younger brother of Raja Narsingh Deo, the ruler of the kingdom of Patna. The territory of Sambalpur State expanded during this time.
- January 1621: Saraikela State was founded in 1620 by Raja Bikram Singh, who was a forerunner to the ruling family's current nomenclature of Singh Deo. The state was located in present-day Jharkhand, India.
Disestablishment
- January 1751: In the 18th century Faza again fell into decline due to the rise of Pate.
