Establishment
- January 1001: The Kingdom of Zimbabwe (c. 1000-1450) was a medieval Shona (Karanga) kingdom located in modern-day Zimbabwe.

1. Events
- January 1431: Nyatsimba Mutota was a warrior prince who founded the Kingdom of Mutapa in the early 15th century.
- January 1451: The Kingdom of Butua was founded by the Rozvi people and ruled by King Changamire Dombo. It was a powerful state known for its skilled warriors and impressive stone architecture. The kingdom controlled trade routes and had a complex social structure.
Disestablishment
- January 1481: By 1450, the capital and most of the Zimbabwe Kingdom had been abandoned.
