Establishment

  • January 399 BC: The legendary Portus Syracusanus is founded after the incursions of the Siceliots of Syracuse, in the 5th century BC.

1. Conquests of Dionysius I of Syracuse

Conquests by Dyonisus I "the Elder", tyrant of the Polis of Syracuse (Sicily).

  • January 399 BC: The legendary Portus Syracusanus is founded after the incursions of the Siceliots of Syracuse, in the 5th century BC.

Disestablishment

  • January 299 BC: The Portus Syracusanus was classically identified on the site of the current Porto Vecchio, however there are several scholars from different eras who refute this thesis, arguing that it may have been in the gulf of Santa Amanza, or in Bonifacio.
