1. Conquests of Murad III

- January 1587: In 1586, at Pate island, Mir Ali Bey, a prominent Ottoman naval commander, captured a Portuguese merchant carrack. This event was part of the ongoing conflict between the Ottoman Empire and the Portuguese Empire for control of trade routes and territories in the Indian Ocean.

- January 1751: In the 18th century Faza again fell into decline due to the rise of Pate.
- January 1859: In 1858 Sultan Ahmad ibn Fumo Bakari, from the old ruling family of the Nabahani, founded the town of Pate on the island of the same name and established an independent sultanate.
Disestablishment
- January 1864: As Pate is conquered by Zanzibar, a small part of its territory fell under the control of the Sultanate of Witu.
- January 1864: Siyu succumbed to Zanzibar's dominance, under Sultan Majid in 1863.
