Was a West African kingdom of the 17th to 19th centuries, occupying territory in what is today Senegal and the Kayes Region of Mali.

Establishment

  • January 1682: In 1681, the territory shown on the map was under the rule of the Kingdom of Khasso.

1. Events

  • January 1708: SarakholĂ©s was a prominent leader from Kaarta who peacefully established the kingdom of Galam in 1707 without any military conflict. This marked the beginning of a new era in the region, with Galam becoming a significant political entity under his rule.

Disestablishment

  • January 1804: Kingdom of Khasso conquered by Kaarta.
