Was a pre-colonial African state located in what is now southwestern Zimbabwe.

Establishment

  • January 1451: The Kingdom of Butua was founded by the Rozvi people and ruled by King Changamire Dombo. It was a powerful state known for its skilled warriors and impressive stone architecture. The kingdom controlled trade routes and had a complex social structure.
