Establishment

  • January 551: In 550 Gao Yang deposed Yuan Shanjian and founded his own dynasty, the Northern Qi.

1. Events

  • January 555: In 555, Jiankang fell to the rebel leader Hou Jing during the Liang Dynasty. Hou Jing was a general who seized control of the city and established his own regime, leading to the downfall of the Liang Dynasty.
  • February 577: Northern Zhou destroyed rival Northern Qi in 577, taking over Northern Qi's territory.
