Establishment

  • January 1277: In 1276, the Kingdom of al-Abwab gained independence from Alodia in the region between Abu Hamad and Soba. Alodia was a medieval Christian kingdom located in present-day Sudan, while the Kingdom of al-Abwab was a neighboring state in the same region.

  • January 1278: The Mamluks also received the submission of king Adur of al-Abwab further south.
