Was a Hindu-Buddhist kingdom, founded by the Shivaist dynasty, that controlled the eastern portion of the island of Java in 1019 AD.

Establishment

  • January 1020: The Shivaist dynasty survived, reclaimed east Java in 1019, and then established the Kahuripan kingdom led by Airlangga, son of Udayana of Bali.

  • January 1031: The vassalage of the Galuh Kingdom to the Srivijaya Empire ends.

Disestablishment

  • January 1046: Kahuripan king Airlangga divided his kingdom into Janggala and Panjalu (Kediri).
