Establishment

  • January 1793: In 1792, the Maroua lamidat was founded by the Fulani warrior Modibbo Adama. The lamidat is a traditional kingdom in the Far North Region of Cameroon, with Maroua as its capital. The establishment of the lamidat marked the beginning of Fulani influence in the region.

Disestablishment

  • January 1802: In 1801, Maroua lamidat was founded by Fulbe warrior Modibbo Adama. The territory was later incorporated into the Maroua Sultanate under the leadership of Sultan Seiny Boukar Lamine.
