- January 1096: In 1095, the castrum Haigerloch, a castle complex in the upper town of Haigerloch on the left bank of the Eyach, which was the seat of the counts of Haigerloch, is mentioned for the first time.

Disestablishment
- January 1201: Around 1200, the Counts of Hohenberg appeared as local lords and built a new castle on the Schlossberg, around which the lower town developed as a market town. […] When these counts died out (after 1162), the counts of Hohenberg took over Haigerloch.
