Was a British Colony in southeast Asia. It was a union of the Malay states and the Straits Settlements of Penang and Malacca. It was the successor to British Malaya and was conceived to unify the Malay Peninsula under a single government to simplify administration.

Establishment

  • April 1946: Kelantan became part of the Malayan Union in 1946.
  • April 1946: Malaysia joins Malay Union.
  • July 1946: The Crown Colony of North Borneo was established in 1946 shortly after the dissolution of the British Military Administration in the area.
