Establishment

  • January 99 BC: The Byeonhan, Jinhan, and Mahan confederacies emerged in the first century BC during the Proto-Three Kingdoms of Korea, or Samhan, period.

1. Events

  • January 17 BC: Baekje was founded in 18 BC by King Onjo, who led a group of people from Goguryeo south to the Han River basin.
  • January 250: In 249, according to the ancient Japanese text Nihonshoki, Baekje's expansion reached the Gaya confederacy to its east, around the Nakdong River valley.

Disestablishment

  • January 376: Baekje annexed the remaining Mahan societies in the south.
