Ptolemy Ceraunus was a son of Ptolemy I Soter. Originally the heir of the Ptolemaic Kingdom, he was displaced by his younger brother and fled to Lysimachus who reigned over Thrace and Macedon. Ptolemy managed to to overthrow Lysimachus and create its own kingdom.
Establishment
