Was a predecessor of modern-day Libya. After France and Great Britain had occupied the Italian colony of Libya during World War II, Libya gained its independency as a Kingdom in 1951.

Establishment

  • December 1951: Tripolitania joined Cyrenaica and Fezzan-Ghadames to form the Kingdom of Libya (with autonomy).
