Were an Indian dynasty that ruled parts of the present-day Rajasthan and neighbouring areas in India, between the 6th and 12th centuries.
Establishment
- January 951: The 8th century Chahamana ruler Durlabharaja I and his successors are known to have served the Gurjara-Pratiharas as vassals. In 10th century, Vakpatiraja I overthrew the Gurjara-Pratihara suzerainty, and assumed the title Maharaja ("great king").

1. Events
- January 1041: Paramara king Bhoja invaded the Chahamana kingdom, and occupied its capital Shakambhari for a brief period.
- February 1041: The Paramaras leave the Chahamana capital Shakambhari after a brief occupation.
- January 1094: The kingdom of Dhundhar or Dausa, was founded in 1093 by Dullah Rai, also known as Dulha Rao.
- January 1151: The Tomara Dynasty was displaced by the Chahamanas of Shakambhari in the 12th century.
- January 1157: Jaisalmer State was established.
Disestablishment
- January 1193: The Chahamanas of Shakambhari's power effectively ended in 1192 CE, when the Ghurids defeated Prithviraja III.
