Was one of the precolonial African Great Lakes Kingdoms.

Establishment

  • January 1501: At the beginning of the 16th century, the Baisengobi clan of Bunyoro took power. Mukama Namutukula of the Babiito royal family of Bunyoro is said to have left Bunyoro during the 16th century as part of the Kingdom's expansion policy, traveling east across Lake Kyoga with his wife Nawudo, some servants, weapons and a dog and landing at Iyingo in northern Busoga.
