Was one of the private colonies of the American Colonization Society (ACS) founded in Liberia that would later merge to form the Commonwealth of Liberia (a predecessor of modern-day Liberia). It was located in the modern-day Liberian county of Montserrado. The ACS was an organization that encouraged and supported the migration African-Americans to Africa.

  • January 1829: Kentucky in Africa was a colony settled by freed African-American slaves in present-day Montserrado County, Liberia.
