Establishment

  • January 599 BC: The year of foundation of the polity of Karene is based on peer group of similar polities in the same region (Phersu Atlas assumption).

1. Conquests of Croesus

Conquests by the Lydian king Croesus.

  • January 559 BC: Conquered by the Kingdom of Lydia. By the start of the reign of Lydian King Croesus (560 BCE), he and his father Alyattes I had conquered (or de facto controlled) most of the Greek Poleis of Asia minor.

2. Peloponnesian War

Was an ancient Greek war fought between Athens and Sparta and their respective allies for the hegemony of the Greek world.

2.1. Second Phase - Deceleian War

Was the second phase of the Peloponnesian War, where Sparta allied with Persia against Athens, which capitulated and lost its empire.

  • January 403 BC: The Delian League was dissolved upon the conclusion of the Peloponnesian War with the defeat of Athens (404 BC).

Disestablishment

  • January 374 BC: Karene is conquered by Persia.
