Was a small kingdom located on the Atlantic coast of Central Africa, in the modern-day Republic of the Congo and Cabinda Province, Angola.
Establishment
- January 1401: The Kakongo Kingdom may have been formed since the end of the 14th century .

1. Events
- January 1536: The Kakongo Kingdom is mentioned for the first time in the titles used in 15 35 by the king of Congo, Afonso I.
- January 1601: Independence of Acongo.
- November 1882: French authorities formally established the French Congo on 30 November 1882.
- January 1885: In 1884 the people of Boma were forced to grant a protectorate of their country to the International Association of the Congo, made up of European powers.
- February 1885: The February 1885 Treaty of Simulambuco was signed between Portugal and local leaders in Cabinda, establishing Cabinda as a protectorate of the Portuguese Crown. This marked Portugal's initial claim of sovereignty over the territory.
Disestablishment
- January 1886: The Kakongo Kingdom is incorporated into Portuguese Angola.
