Establishment

• January 1801: Muhera  becomes the first king of the chiefdom of Gciriku.

1. Events

• January 1851: Bf.1850 Sinyungu.
• October 1885: In 1885, William Worthington Jordan bought a tract (fifty thousand square kilometers) of land from the Ovambo chief Kambonde for three hundred pounds. Here he established the Republic of Upingtonia on 20 October 1885.

Disestablishment

• January 1896: Gciriku became a German protectorate integrated in German South West Africa (modern-day Namibia).
