Is an archipelago that lies north to the British Isles, in the Atlantic Ocean. Colonized by the Norsement fom ca. 800 AD, today it is an autonomous region of Denmark.

Establishment

  • April 1948: The Faroe Islands were in 1948 granted extended self-governance within the Danish Realm with the signing of the Home Rule Act of the Faroe Islands.
