Was a Danish colony established in 1699 in Vieques, an island east to Puerto Rico island, after expelling the Scottish colonists from the country.

Establishment

  • January 1699: Scottish sovereignty of Vieques proved short-lived, as a Danish ship arrived shortly afterward and claimed the island.
