Establishment

  • January 1251: Lathi (princely state of Gohil dynasty) is a town with municipality in Amreli district in the Indian state of Gujarat. Famously known by Bhagvanji Jagjivan sharma after Kavi kalapi. Sejakji received Shahpur along with 24 villages in jagir, in the midst of which he founded a capital in 1250, naming it Sejakpur after himself.

1. Partition of India

Was the partition of British India in two independent entities: India (with a Hindu majority) and Pakistan (with a Muslim majority). This included the several princely states that were dependent on the British Colony.

  • August 1947: Lathi acceded India.

2. Further events (Unrelated to Any War)

  • January 1781: The minor princely state, in Gohilwar prant established by Hanubha Gohil, third son of Lakhaji III, 16th Thakor saheb of Lathi.
  • January 1804: The British East India Company wrested control of much of Gujarat from the Marathas during the Second Anglo-Maratha War in 1802-1803.
