- January 532: 13-18 January 532: a bloody revolt broke out in Constantinople, in the Hippodrome, on January 13 532; to the cry of Nikā, Nikā, (Win! Win!), with which the people used to incite their champions in chariot races, the crowd attempted to overthrow the emperor Justinian I. The rebellion, however, died out in blood on 18 January.
