- March 2014: The Islamist rebels and their jihadist ally Al-Nusra Front seized the small city of Kasab.
- June 2014: The rebels were repelled from Kesab and forced back by the Syrian army and allied NDF forces (including by Syrian Resistance of Ali Kayali) by the end of June 2014.
