- January 1357: 1357-1366: The number of Arab and Persian Muslims residing in the Chinese port city of Quanzhou increases dramatically. In 1357, a predominantly Muslim army, led by two Muslims from Quanzhou, Sayf ad-Din and Amir ad-Din, revolted against the Yuan dynasty. After a period of victories of the rebels against the Mongols, the revolt ended up being put down in 1366.
