  • January 743: 743-744: In 743 the Duke of Bavaria Odilone, who the year before had forced the sister of Carloman and Pepin, Iltrude, to marry him against the will of the brothers (according to the Ex Chronico Sigeberti monks had kidnapped her), rebelled against Frankish authority, thus forcing Carloman and Pippin to raise an army to attack Bavaria.
