  • December 742: In the autumn of that year, having crossed the Rhine, Carloman and Pippin devastated Alemannia, reaching as far as the Danube where the Alemanni, led by Theobald, son of Duke Godfrid, seeing themselves beaten, surrendered and, handing over hostages and offering gifts, demanded peace.
