Was an Islamic jihad and military expedition of Usman Dan Fodiyo, ruler of the Sokoto Caliphate, against the Hausa Kingdoms of preswnt-day Nigeria and Cameroon.

  • January 1808: By 1807, the jihadists had taken over the states of Katsina and Daura, and the important kingdom of Kano.
  • April 1805: Gobir captured the village of Matankari.
  • January 1806: In 1805, the forces of dan Fodio, the jihadists, captured the Hausa kingdom of Kebbi.
  • January 1809: In 1808, the jihadists of the Sokoto Caliphate captured Gobir.
